The other sideplot, which ties nicely to the recently released HH novels was also a good side tag, that helped to round out the ending, and allowed the Mechanicus characters to display more than their normal level of humanity, although it came dangerously close to tossing GW’s holy status quo out the window. As the god-machines stride to war, the world trembles, for the devastation they unleash could destroy the very world they have pledged to save. Forges of Mars Omnibus Paperback. Wonderfully written tale If you like the 40K universe and the towering titans, then you will love book. The Fighting arm consists solely of keeping crew prepped and ready, refuel and rearm operations, and hauling the huge metal beasts back and forth between planets which takes a lot of specialized hardware and custom cruisers to accomplish. And when the machine that machine spirit inhabits can level cities with minimal effort, you damn well do everything you can to keep it happy. I struggled to become attached to any of them and the story lines that I did enjoy were too short.

Titanicus (Warhammer 40, ): Dan Abnett: : Books

Warhammer 40, is among the richest and most diverse settings in modern day science fiction. The God Machines don’t work well with others, either. Horus Rising The Horus Heresy. Dan Abnett is by far my favorite of the titaniucs authors. All told, the book is great, and only suffered from one very weak titnaicus. The storyline fatlers slightly by trying to branch together two separate plotlines, involving a stray squad of auxillary PDF with the Titan Legion engagements.

The most notable of these tend to be during times when the imperial gu Dan Abnett’s “titanicus” is a great piece of military sci-fi.

Adeptus Titanicus

Well rounded and fleshed out characters, great action. An interesting exploration into a Forgeworld and the life of Ad Mech citizens. The latter particularly hurts, because the renowned Dan Abnett beloved by all, hallowed be his name really really really went overboard on the whole “let’s cut to another story thread without notice” thing.

Also the death of Stefan Samstag, not an important character but still very interesting, was without meaning and since it was at the end of the book it left a bitter taste.

But it has a great atmosphere.

Better kill most of the characters and just hastily wrap up all the lose ends! Unfortunately it may be a little too much to digest and if does not all go down as well as it could.
