It is such an easy set-up and I cannot help but be excited over the fact that having an outdoor sink is so convenient! I connected my outdoor hose to the sink for the water. A line can be connected to both the hot water handle and the cold water handle, though obviously there will be no hot water. In my setup, I only have one line running to the cold water handle. Luckily, you do not need a ton of fancy equipment and technical know-how to get your garden hose attached to your kitchen faucet. This short and simple-to-follow guide will explain exactly how to attach your garden hose to the kitchen sink in as little as five minutes. A thread adapter is a small device that, on one end, is threaded to fit your kitchen faucet while on the other end, it is threaded to fit your garden hose. Before you go out to purchase one, figure out what kind of faucet you have, if possible.
While a lot of faucets have the same sized hole, some do not. The adapter should cost you no more than five to ten dollars and can be found at just about any hardware store. Your faucet should have some sort of fitting underneath where the water comes out.

If so, you will need to break this fitting and pull it out. The fitting usually consists of a simple rubber stopper and is often times easy to remove by hand.
Sometimes though, on older or more difficult faucets, a pair of pliers may be required to break the fitting. Carefully screw your thread adapter into your kitchen faucet. Take extra care not to cross-thread or try to force it in.
If it is the wrong size, forcing it will only damage the product beyond being able to return it and may damage your faucet, too. Once the thread adapter is in nice and snug and fully screwed in, you may move on to step four.

Apply teflon tape to the wider end of the connector. Apply teflon tape to the narrow end of the straight connector then connect it to the narrow end of the faucet connector water supply line. Installing the drain is pretty straight-forward.

For the drain, I will connect a "T"-shaped drain which is exactly the same one that is found under the kitchen sink. However, you may find a time where you want to connect an outdoor garden hose to your indoor sink. This may be because you do not have a spout on the outside of the house, or you want to wash your dog with warm water but don't want to clog up the bathtub drain with an overabundance of dog hair.
Make sure it is screwed on tightly enough so that it forms a watertight seal. Part 2 of Replace the faucet tip after using the hose. Remove the hose and faucet adapter, then screw the faucet tip back on relatively tightly so that it forms a good seal.
Check for leaks. The faucet may leak from the replaced faucet tip if the seal is not as good as it originally was.
Add Teflon tape to the faucet. To prevent or stop leaks from the faucet tip, first remove the faucet tip, then apply two or three turns of Teflon tape clockwise to the threaded area of the faucet. Pull the tape tightly around the threaded area of the faucet, being careful not to let extra tape overhang the area where the water exits the faucet, as it may impede the flow of the water.
Screw the faucet tip on over the Teflon tape. Excess tape may be visible, but this is not a problem. Trim any overhang.
An Even BETTER Outdoor Sink!
Cut the excess tape gently with a knife, and peel away the scraps. There is a special adapter for this. Take your aerator off the end of the spout to find a match.

A hose would make life much easier, but we don't have a hook up outside (and I rent, or otherwise, I'd put it in). So I was thinking about a way to connect a hose to my kitchen sink. The faucet is a sprayer (like this but a little fancier), and it doesn't seem convenient to remove when we want to use a hose. The next thing you will want to do is attach your garden hose to the newly-installed kitchen faucet thread adapter. To do this, simply screw one end of your hose into the adapter while it is on your sink. Again, be careful not to cross thread so as to not cause damage to the thread adapter or your garden hose.
